Most modern skincare relies on emulsifiers.
They’re everywhere - quietly holding creams together, creating smooth textures, and giving products their familiar feel.
We choose not to use them.
Not as a trend.
Not as a provocation.
But because, for the skin itself, they offer little - and often nothing at all.
What emulsifiers really do.
Emulsifiers exist to solve a manufacturing problem, not a skin problem.
They bind oil and water into a stable cream. That’s their job.
Once applied to the skin, their role is largely complete.
These long-chain molecules don’t nourish the skin.
They don’t hydrate.
They don’t repair or strengthen the barrier.
They simply sit.
Texture for the formula. No benefit for the skin.
From the skin’s perspective, emulsifiers are functionally inactive.
They don’t integrate into the skin’s lipid structure.
They don’t communicate with skin cells.
They don’t enhance long-term skin health.
In some cases, with repeated use, they may even interfere with the skin’s natural lipid balance - especially on already sensitive or compromised skin.
For us, that was reason enough to question their place.
A different approach - by design.
Rather than relying on emulsifiers, we formulate anatomically sympathetic products that respect the skin’s natural architecture.
This means:
- pure oils and oil-based serums that the skin recognises
- hydrosols that absorb effortlessly
- products that perform without unnecessary structural agents
Every formula is designed to work with the skin, not simply sit on top of it.
Why this matters long-term.
Skin thrives when it isn’t confused, coated, or constantly adjusted.
By removing emulsifiers, we reduce what the skin must process, tolerate, or compensate for.
What remains is direct, meaningful contact between beneficial ingredients and the skin itself.

Choosing not to use emulsifiers is not the easiest path.

I didn’t set out to create skincare for trends, launches, or promises that shout.
I set out to create skincare that respects the skin.
Over time, I became increasingly aware of how often skin is overworked - stripped, stimulated, corrected, and overwhelmed in the pursuit of quick results. What’s often lost in that process is the skin’s natural intelligence and its ability to regulate, repair, and protect itself when given the right conditions.
This brand was born from a desire to return to those fundamentals.
Our formulations are guided by the principles of corneotherapy - an approach that prioritises the health of the skin barrier as the foundation of all beautiful skin. Instead of forcing change, we focus on supporting function: gentle cleansing, thoughtful hydration, lipid balance, and ingredients that the skin recognises and welcomes.
Every formula is intentionally restrained.
Every ingredient has a clear purpose.
Nothing is included simply to impress.
I am deeply drawn to the language of plants - not only for their benefits to the skin, but for the way they engage the senses. Our scents come naturally from hydrosols, essential oils, and resins, chosen for their softness, complexity, and ability to create a moment of calm within daily ritual.
